By using Musica Republica ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms govern your use of the website and all related services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent to use the Platform. Artists must own or have the right to sell the music they upload.

2. Artist Revenue Share

Artists retain 80% of each sale. Musica Republica retains a 20% platform fee to cover payment processing, hosting, and platform operations. This is subject to change with 30 days' notice.

3. Content Ownership

Artists retain 100% ownership of their music. Uploading content to the Platform grants Musica Republica a limited, non-exclusive licence to display, stream, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the Platform.

Fans who purchase music receive a personal, non-transferable licence to stream and download (where enabled) the purchased track for personal use only. No resale, redistribution, or commercial use is permitted.

4. Prohibited Content

You may not upload content that infringes third-party copyright, contains illegal material, or violates our community guidelines. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these terms.

5. Payments & Refunds

All sales are final unless the delivered file is materially different from what was described. Refund requests must be made within 7 days of purchase and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

6. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Artists will receive any outstanding earned funds owed at the time of termination, less applicable fees.

Data We Collect

• Account information (name, email, password hash)
• Artist profile data (artist name, bio, genre)
• Uploaded music files and cover art
• Purchase records and transaction history
• Usage data (play counts, referral tracking)

How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to operate the Platform: processing payments, displaying content, tracking sales, and improving the service. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

Third-Party Services

We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs how payment data is handled. We do not store raw card numbers.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication sessions. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

Data Deletion

To request deletion of your account and associated data, email us at privacy@musicarepublica.com. Deletion will be processed within 30 days.

Artists can invite others to join the Platform using their unique referral link. Referral rewards are credited at our discretion and may change. Referral credits have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn. The referral programme is provided as a goodwill incentive and does not constitute a binding financial arrangement.

Musica Republica is building a long-term platform for independent artists. We are exploring ways to give artists a greater stake in the platform's success over time — including participation models that could align artist interests with platform growth.

Any future participation, equity, token, or ownership scheme would be subject to applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and formal legal agreements at the time they are introduced. Nothing on this website constitutes a current offer or promise of equity, securities, or financial returns. Any such programme, if introduced, would be optional, clearly disclosed, and legally structured.
